Online technologies have removed the barriers of time, cost and location from the learning activities and experiences available to students. Virtual field trips allow learners to engage with and to learn about authentic artifacts and to explore places important to their discipline of study and consistent with their individual learning needs. India Gate, Delhi Overview
India Gate, official name Delhi Memorial, at first called All-India War Memorial, tremendous sandstone bend in New Delhi, focused on the fighters of British India who died in wars battled somewhere in the range of 1914 and 1919. Owing to its rich historical background and astonishing architecture, India Gate has become one among the foremost popular picnic spots within the city.

It was dedicated to all the soldiers who laid their lives during the war so that the future generations would remember them for the noble sacrifice they made for the love of their country.Sir Edwin LutyvCens, who structured the India Gate, was a main war remembrance planner and was additionally an individual from CWGC. He built it as a secular memorial freed from any religious association or cultural ornamentation. Also, Lutyens wanted the monument to be a classical one, so refused to include any Asian motifs like pointed arches. The style of architecture of India Gate is that of a monument and is usually compared with the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the Gateway of India in Mumbai, and the Arch of Constantine in Rome.
About 150 meters towards the east of the India Gate, there’s a cover that was inbuilt 1936 as a tribute to former Emperor of India, King George V. There wont to be a marble statue of George V , but it had been removed because of opposition from some political parties after India’s independence. Currently the statue is found in Delhi’s Coronation Park.

India Gate also houses a little structure called Amar Jawan Jyoti, which consists of a marble pedestal with a cenotaph on its top. The cenotaph has the words ‘Amar Jawan’ written on all four sides in golden letters and also features a reversed rifle, capped by a soldier helmet, installed on that. Every year on 26th January India gate stands witness to the Republic Day parade where latest advancements of defence technology is displayed. The parade is also a good platform to have a glimpse at the colourful and diverse cultural heritage of India as artists from all over the country perform on the occasion.
